Do I need to bring a dance partner?
No, you just need to bring yourself. Most people come alone so there will be someone for you to dance with and we rotate the class on a regular basis so everyone gets to dance with everyone.
What clothing shall I wear?
Just wear something you are comfortable in. For the studio you could wear dance / gym trousers and for the club you could wear jeans or a skirt etc.
What shoes shall I wear?
Dance shoes are better but if it you have just started taking lessons wear flat shoes with a non grip sole for girls ballet pumps and for men trainers are fine. Once you start dancing more you might want to invest in some dance shoes with a suede sole, Bloch do a good range of dance shoe. Women - it is better to wear a lower heel for balance in Lambada.
What is the music like?
We dance mainly to Zouk and Kizomba but we also dance to Latin, RnB, Arabic and Reggaeton.
How long will it take me to be able to dance?
It will take a few months of consistent classes to develop your confidence on the dance floor.
Do I need any experience to start the classes?
None at all. The classes run on a Friday are aimed at beginners to improver level and cater for complete beginners.
Do I need to book for the classes?
No, just turn up. It would be a good idea to email michelle@lovelambada.com so we can put you on the mailing list to inform you of any updates.
